Dr Jane Barker
MB,CHb, MRCP (Paeds London), M,GP Psych, Dip Women’s Health and Family Planning, Dip Eating Disorders
Jane qualified in 1973. She initially qualified in Paediatrics, specialising in tropical paediatrics in PNG before immigrating to Australia in 1986. She has worked in General Practice in Bangalow for over 20 years and has thoroughly loved working in this community. While she enjoys General Medicine, Women’s Health and Child health she has developed a special interest in Palliative Care and Mental Health particularly Mood disorders and Eating disorders. She has a particular interest in incorporating Healing into General Practice.
She returned last year from an exciting time volunteering in Southern Africa. She lives on a farm in Eureka where her husband grows macadamias and rainforest trees. She has 2 adult children. She loves to walk, garden and visit the beach, and embrace the beauty of the place she now calls home.
Dr Graham Truswell
MBBS, DRCOG, DT M & H
Dr Truswell specializes in men's and children's health, immunizations, skin damage and skin cancer assessments, preventative health, travel medicine and general and emergency medicine. He uses the DermDOC scanning system to scan and record moles and their changes.
He and his wife Lyndy have 2 school age children and live in the local area. Graham is involved with his children's sports and in his spare time he enjoys surfing, bush walking and swimming and takes part in several local events including the annual Byron Bay ocean swim.
Dr Jill Pryor
MBBS, FRACGP
Dr Pryor graduated in 1990 from Monash University and obtained her FRACGP in 2001. She competes at an international level in sprint hurdles, long jump and heptathlon and therefore specialized in sports medicine as well as general medicine, women’s and children’s health issues and breast-feeding.
She and her partner have 2 school age children and live in the local area. Dr Pryor is passionate about athletics and her fitness, and she and her children train daily. She also helps with Byron Bay little athletics and also enjoys watching her son play rugby league and union and her daughter with athletics.
Dr Jodi Stevenson
MBBS, B Sc, DRANZCOG, FRACGP
Dr Stevenson graduated in 2001 from the University of Queensland and obtained her FRACGP in 2008. She has hospital experience and specializes in the fields of emergency medicine, women’s and children’s health especially with pregnant women and newborns, general medicine, preventative health and skin cancer detection, mental health and immunizations.
Dr Stevenson has lived in the local area since 2005 with her husband and 2 small children. Jodi loves chocolate and coffee.
Dr Rebecca Scott
MBBS, B Sc, FRACGP
Dr Scott graduated in 1999 from the University of New South Wales and obtained her FRACGP in 2007. She specializes in women’s and children’s health, immunizations, preventative health, mental health and eating disorders.
Rebecca lives in the local area on her new property with her partner and 2 dogs. In her spare time she enjoys making ceramics, camping and horse riding.
Dr George Forgan-Smith
MBBS, B Sc
Dr Forgan-Smith graduated in 2003 from the University of Queensland. He specialises in men’s and children’s health issues, general health, skin cancer detection, immunizations and preventative health.
He lives with his partner locally and enjoys long walks along the beach with their dog and eating out at restaurants. He is a trained opera singer and is interested in computer technology and music.
Dr Marcus Hewitson
MBBS, B Sc
Dr Hewitson graduated in 1998 from the University of New South Wales. He specializes in men’s and children’s health, immunizations, general health and preventative medicine.
