In 1988, Dr Jane Barker joined Dr Carol Brown and Dr David Smith and the Bangalow Medical Centre was founded. Dr Graham Truswell joined the team in 1993.

Back in those days the practice operated from Granuaille Road. In 1996 we moved premises to our current location on the site of the old Bangalow Motel on Ballina Road.

today's practice

Today the Bangalow Medical Centre is rated one of the top 2 practices operating in the Northern Rivers area and has been AGPAL accredited since 2000.

We now employ 6 general practitioners, 2 registered nurses, a practice manager and 4 receptionists plus a full time caretaker. The practice has also been teaching doctors the skills of general practice for almost 20 years.

We provide the only full general practice service in the Bangalow area with many patients from outlying communities and villages also choosing to attend.
