The Bangalow Medical Centre is a fully accredited general practice with it's standards of medical care approved by Australian General Practice Accreditation Limited (AGPAL). We have a team of 7 doctors, 2 nurses and a pathology collecting centre.

We are fully equipped for general practice needs and emergencies. We have 2 minor procedure rooms, one of which is designed to accommodate urgent cases. We are fully versed in the care of medical emergencies and have resuscitation equipment available. We have a system in place to triage medical problems that present, so that when serious or life threatening, they will be seen promptly. We can manage minor fractures and injuries. Hospital admission can be organised under Bangalow Medical Centre doctors in Byron Bay Hospital or under specialists in other hospitals.

All areas of the surgery have their own networked computer terminal to enable efficient communication and record keeping. Records are all confidential. We have attempted to create a comfortable air conditioned waiting room. Easy car parking, disabled and ambulance access, enable us to cater for people with disabilities. We can make home visits if necessary for regular patients with mobility or transport problems.

The medical centre complex also includes physiotherapy, Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology, Bangalow Dental Centre and Bangalow Professional Centre (psychologists, speech pathologist and podiatrist).

Education

Bangalow Medical Centre is an accredited teaching practice. Training is open to medical students and registrars. We are also a teaching practice for medical students from Wollongong University. We conduct regular in-house clinical meetings. Specialist seminars are also conducted on a regular basis.
